MASE/CWA 2020 UNION ELECTIONS

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS: NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN FOR MASE/CWA GOVERNING BOARD AND OFFICERS:

 

It’s time to nominate and elect our local union officers and Governing Board members. The MASE/CWA bylaws call for nominations of candidates for our Governing Board and officers to take place during September and secret ballot elections during October. Positions to be filled include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Regional Board members to be elected from 15 geographical districts ( 3 from the Central, Southern, Northern, Western, and Eastern parts of the state.  The President and Vice-President shall serve as delegates to the National CWA union convention. An election committee has been formed to conduct the election. Election committee members are not candidates for any office of MASE/CWA. The nomination procedure is as follows:

(THE NOMINATION PETITION MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST 10 MEMBER'S NAMES

1. Any members who want to be a candidate MUST be nominated by at ten (10) members in good standing. (If the office sought is a Governing Board member position, the nominating signature must be from the appropriate region.)

2. The nominee must submit a statement that she/he will accept the position if elected.

3. The nominee must indicate her or his name, work location, and office sought. Those nominating the person must include their signature and work location.

4. All nominations must be received by the Election Committee by September 30, 2020, at the following address: MASE/CWA, P. O. Box 1056 Jackson, MS 39215All candidates are responsible for their own campaign costs (if any). MASE/CWA funds will not be used for any candidate. All candidates will be notified of the campaign election procedures as soon as possible after the committee receives the nominating petitions. Ballots, if there's opposition, will be mailed on October 22, 2020.
